Meet My Family!
I'm married to my college sweetheart who has been my sidekick in ministry all these years. We have three teen daughters and two cats we adopted during the pandemic.
Additionally, I'm an identical twin (my twin is married to my husband's cousin, and they have three daughters, too--the same ages as our girls!)
I LOVE trying new foods, discovering local coffee shops, and feeling sunshine on my arms in winter. Our family enjoys reading, playing board games, and going to the beach.
The Call to Ministry
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I spent one year of college traveling across all fifty states and 183 cities with First Priority on the “Whats Up America Tour,” exploring the spiritual lives of young people and asking, “What does America look like through the eyes of our youth?”
Those experiences shaped my heart for full-time ministry, and after college graduation, I joined Cru to help connect people to Jesus.
Serving with Cru eventually brought me to Hawaii, where I had the privilege of working with college students from all over the globe. Living in this place where East meets West deeply shaped my spiritual journey and gave me a richer appreciation for culture, diversity, and the ways God works in people’s lives.
It was also in Hawaii that God planted the idea for my book, From Him, Not Them, and began shaping the message I now get to share with young women and those who care for them.
Back to farm life and ministry on Maryland's Eastern Shore!
Our family returned in the summer of 2024 after nearly six years on the Big Island—a season that shaped so much of my heart and ministry.
These days, I’m still discipling young women, sharing insights from my book through podcast interviews and speaking engagements, and serving the people in my Tracy Harper Writes community.
I'm once again cooking with cast iron, enjoying sunsets on the river, and appreciating the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay waterways.
In his book, The Knowledge of the Holy, A.W. Tozer writes, "What comes into our mind when we think about God is the most important thing about us."
I couldn't agree more! In a time when many of us feel powerless or paralyzed in a rapidly changing world, we can live empowered lives. We can experience the abundant life that Jesus promises (John 10:10).
